UK-based industrialist says Abia now conducive for investments

August 14, 20242 Mins Read

An Abia-born United Kingdom-based industrialist, Chief Charles Lawrence Nwangwa, has said that  Abia State is highly conducive for investment, especially for those in the diaspora.

Chief Nwangwa spoke in the United Kingdom during the New Yam festival of the Igbo community in the UK.

He lauded Governor Alex Otti for his leadership acumen, adding that he has made Abia State very attractive to investors. He enthused that Abia State offers a robust plan for those in the diaspora to invest.

He said, “The state offers a robust plan for diaspora investments. Those with promising proposals are welcome to engage directly with state officials, including the governor himself.

“Governor Otti is committed to attracting investment, making Abia an ideal destination.”

Insisting that Otti’s achievements are products of the extensive experience the governor had garnered over the years, Nwangwa highlighted the progress Abia State has made under his leadership and encouraged investment in the state.

He noted that despite some security challenges in the state, the governor has shown capacity in governance, stressing that Abia is currently the safest state in the South-East region.

He added, “Despite minor security issues in some areas, the governor’s effective handling has maintained peace and directed the state towards development.”

The industrialist used the event to express his admiration for the Igbo Union in the UK and appreciated the group’s efforts in fostering a strong community abroad.

Contributing, one of the attendees of the event, Chief Kenneth Ofoegbu, who is also known as an ‘Aba Boy,’ said he is proud of Governor Otti’s achievements.

He maintained that Nigerians in the UK see him as a symbol of good governance in Nigeria, adding that Governor Otti “speaks little, but accomplishes great things.”
