Bolton NHS Foundation Trust which runs Royal Bolton Hospital, has been named as a finalist at the Public Finance Awards 2024.
The Trust’s finance team are shortlisted in the ‘Finance Team of the Year – Frontline Services’ category for their work to deliver high quality services for the NHS in Bolton.
The Public Finance Awards recognise the people, products and services that demonstrate excellence and originality within public finance.
The winners will be announced in London on Tuesday 26 November 2024.
The Finance team have also driven the production of business cases for national capital funding for two major developments, which is helping to provide better care to more patients in Bolton and beyond.
These business cases have resulted in four brand-new state of the art theatres and a Community Diagnostic Centre, which both opened earlier this year to support thousands of people to access vital care and support every year.

Matthew Greene, Deputy Director of Finance at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said: “The finance team is delighted to have been shortlisted as one of three organisations for the 2024 National Public Finance Award for Finance Team of the Year – Frontline Services.
“This recognition highlights the ongoing hard work of every team member and our commitment to supporting the delivery of high-quality, sustainable services.”
Earlier this year, the team launched an ambitious project to create a shared ledger system for NHS providers in Greater Manchester.
They also scored in the top 15 for the national NHS Staff Survey for NHS financial departments for the consecutive year.
