Andhra Pradesh Government has entered into Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) for a total investment of ₹51,000 crore in clean energy.

The MoUs were signed at the Green Hydrogen Summit at the SRM University in Amaravati on Friday. As part of the MoUs, the UK-based Yamna will establish a 1 mmtpa green ammonia project at Krishnapatnam with an investment of ₹16,000 crore.

The JKSH Green Power and Hynfra will invest ₹35,000 crore in a project at Machilipatnam comprising 150 ktpa green hydrogen and 600 ktpa green ammonia.

Together, the two projects would create over 10,500 green jobs. The MoUs were facilitated by NREDCAP and the AP Energy Department.

Earlier, while addressing the participants in the summit, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said “we will start working towards making Andhra Pradesh, India’s Hydrogen Valley by converging technology, infrastructure, and innovation.’‘

Going forward, Andhra Pradesh would play a major role in the clean energy sector, Naidu said adding, “We have advantages like solar, wind, pumped energy, and a long coastline where port facilities can be used for exporting green hydrogen, ammonia, and so on.’‘

Andhra Pradesh’s Clean Energy Policy was promoting not just green hydrogen but its entire ecosystem with electrolyser manufacturing, solar and wind projects, pumped storage, and EV charging infrastructure, he said.
