The Raza Art Gallery is currently hosting ‘Raza Smriti’, a multidisciplinary art camp, to honor the memory of modernist master Sayed Haider Raza on his ninth death anniversary. This event has drawn curious minds and art enthusiasts, from children to senior citizens, who are exploring creativity through various art forms.
Over 300 participants of all ages and genders engage in painting, sculpture, and other artistic endeavors, guided by prominent artists. Notable figures like Shailja Kumari, who paints flowers on umbrellas, express pride and new understanding of art. A sculpture camp turns scrap materials into meaningful artworks, aligning with Raza’s creative philosophy.
The event, held from July 19, includes poetry readings, theatre, dance, and music performances, featuring artists and poets like Arunima Ghosh and Prabhat Ranjan. Ashok Vajpeyi, managing trustee of the Raza Foundation, emphasizes the importance of inspiring younger generations through this rich cultural celebration.
