Michael Budge will join Abta as its new director of finance, with effect from December 1, reporting to chief executive, Mark Tanzer.
ย
He joins from the Civil Aviation Authority, where he is head of Atol. Heย is also currently a non-executive director of CAA (International).
ย
Before joining the CAA in 2012 to work as a senior manager in aviation and travel finance, Budge had a โdistinguishedโ career in corporate finance, said Abta.
ย
Tanzer said: โMichael is well known by many in the UK travel sector and has a compelling track record in travel finance.
ย
โHe will bring much to Abta in his new role with us, helping to ensure that we deliver for our members.
ย
โHe joins at an exciting time, with positive consumer perceptions of the Abta brand at a high, and with much going on to support our members to trade even more successfully.โ
ย
Budge said: โIโm delighted to be appointed director of finance at Abta and to soon be joining an organisation that plays a pivotal role in shaping our travel sector.
ย
โHaving seen first-hand how Abta builds consumer confidence, supports its members and represents the industry, Iโm excited to help contribute to that impact.ย
ย
โI look forward to working with our members and partners to support their growth, promote best practice and help build a sustainable and trusted future for travellers and businesses alike.โ
ย
He succeeds Flic Jefferis-Boyd who has moved on, said an Abta spokesperson.
