All that is trending in the culinary, art, and entertainment world

April 11, 20243 Mins Read

Enter the dynamic world of Indian culinary, art, and entertainment, where trends are ever-evolving. From sustainable streetwear and gastronomical experiences, to experimental art forms, come along as we delve into what’s the latest buzz.

THE TRIBAL STORY

Johargram, a brand operating in the sustainable streetwear category, makes clothes like Kukhna shawl, Biru gamcha, Pindna sari, Maaysaree, and Betra luga. Weaved mainly in a red and white combination, it denotes sacrifice and peace, according to the tribal story. They are working towards preserving their culture, along with educating people about the indigenous fabrics, style, and silhouette.

A CULINARY POTPOURRI

Explore the unique intersection of Indian and Japanese cultures at INJA, New Delhi. Their latest addition—the ‘Hawker High’ menu—is all about gastronomical innovation, delightful aromas, and a flavour-packed punch! Chef Adwait has left no stones unturned to seamlessly blend the umami-rich precision of Japanese cuisine with fragrant Indian street food. Dishes one must try are the Hamachi Bombay Sandwich and Koji Chicken Wings, to name a few.

Folklore Revived

Kalpavana – The Forest of Boons is a captivating collection of artwork that draws inspiration from South Asian folklore. Displayed at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, it was unveiled by Karishma Swali and Chanakya School of Craft aimed to create a new contemporary language for craft as a revered art form for a discerning global audience.

HOLISTIC WELL-BEING

Discover Delhi’s latest sanctuary for health and harmony, The Lifeyoga Centre in the diplomatic district of Chanakyapuri is a perfect place to set new goals for 2024. This immersive centre is one-of-a-kind and seeks to enrich daily urban life with regular health practices such as different forms of yoga. One can visit to indulge in their wellness-led eatery, retail store, and grocery store as well

EXPANDING ART HORIZONS

Aparajita Jain and Peter Nagy, co-directors of Nature Morte—a premier contemporary art gallery—announced the inauguration of the gallery’s permanent space in Mumbai. Located in the historic Dhanraj Mahal, joining the family of contemporary art galleries in Colaba, Nature Morte opened with a solo show of new works by the artist Subodh Gupta.

A NEW CHAPTER

Established in 1981, Ravissant flawlessly blends avant-garde with tradition and creates unique styles that resonate across continents. A versatile brand, they have silverware, a clothing line exuding global charm, and the Salon de Ravissant, among other things. The brand recently launched their coffee table book titled Ravissant: A World of Ultimate Elegance. The book documents the outstanding entrepreneurship of Mina and Ravi Chawla, and their deeper understanding of India’s legacy crafstmanship and the European standards of luxury—making it a collector’s delight.

ELEVATED LIVING

The House of Things introduces The Apartment, a collaborative venture by film producer Rhea Kapoor and interior designer Ravi Vazirani. This curated collection embodies timeless sophistication, paying homage to individuality and intellectual curiosity. The atmosphere is defined by a muted palette of creamy, earthy hues, accented with subtle metallic touches. Each piece in the collection is a harmonious blend of form and function, where simplicity reigns supreme.
