THE artist behind a “daring” new art gallery said “it hasn’t really sunk in” following it successful opening.
Stourbridge-based contemporary artist, Cal, officially opened Future Rebel Art Gallery at the end of August (August 23), with the gallery having attracted art lovers from far and wide throughout its first week.
Tucked away under the treasure trove of Grandad’s Attic opposite the Bonded Warehouse, Future Rebel Art Gallery hopes to become an artistic haven for people to come and enjoy “contemporary and thought-provoking” creations.
“It’s really overwhelming,” said Cal. “It hasn’t really sunk in that I’m a gallery owner.
“It’s been received by the town really well so far, so a big thank you to everyone in Stourbridge for the warm reception.
“Also massive thanks to Dave Powell from Grandad’s Attic – without him, none of this would be possible.”
For its first 10-week showcase, there are pieces from 13 artists on display, which are all available to purchase as well.
From sculptures and mixed media pieces to audio-visual art and interactive creations, the gallery hopes to offer something that will spark everyone’s attention.

Cal said he is already looking forward to the next launch night in just under 10 weeks’ time, when the art on display will move into its second exhibition.
He said: “It’s going to be even bigger and ever better.”
