Beverley art exhibition celebrating local talent opens

September 27, 20251 Min Read

An exhibition featuring the work of more than 100 local artists is being held in Beverley.

The open art event, which is in its 24th year, showcases the “incredible creative talent” from East Yorkshire and beyond, according to organisers.

More than 300 professional and amateur artists submitted their work for inclusion, with 126 pieces selected by a panel to feature in the show.

The exhibition at Beverley Art Gallery has been described as “a celebration of the region’s artistic community”.

Curator Hannah Willetts said: “We’ve been delighted by the strong response to this year’s open art exhibition.

“Each year, our guest selectors bring fresh perspectives and we’re proud to continue providing a platform for local talent in our historic gallery.”

Visitors will be able to vote for their favourite pieces in the People’s Choice Award, with the Friends of Beverley Art Gallery awarding prizes for “outstanding works”.

The exhibition, in the gallery at Champney Treasure House, runs until 18 December and is open Monday to Saturday.
