Carre d’artistes Art Gallery is proud to be hosting artist Marie-Josee Bergeron for a Meet and Greet on Saturday, April 27. We are open from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Marie-Josee will be with us all day.
Marie-Josee Bergeron is a mixed media artist who creates fantastical worlds in her paintings that you can get lost in exploring. Bergeron’s practice is located at the crossroads of arts. Having graduated in Art and Art History, she developed a professional design practice at the same time. Her intuitive approach favours the encounter of techniques, the combination of colours and the fusion of materials. Working a bit like a decorator or a fashion designer who is inspired by samples of materials and colours to put together an ensemble, Marie-Josée Bergeron mixes forms and textures, bits of fabric or pieces of paper, images taken from a magazine or personal photographs, then sticks, inserts, superimposes and recomposes them to make all of these samples the central theme of a story. She takes turns being one of our best-selling artists and it will be wonderful to see her paint for us live, to answer questions about her process and sign purchases with personal messages.
Our gallery carries both her small and large format paintings, they are all originals, and we never have any prints. Our prices go by size and range from $175 to $4,900. We look forward to seeing you on the 27!
