October 22, 20242 Mins Read

Last Friday evening, Falmouth Art Gallery kicked off its highly anticipated Imagine Falmouth exhibition with an exclusive preview event, attended by over 100 artists and their guests. The bi-annual exhibition, which celebrates Cornwall-based artists of all ages, has quickly become a standout event on the region’s art calendar.

Over 400 Entries Submitted

This year, the open exhibition attracted more than 400 submissions, showcasing a diverse range of talent from the Cornish community. An independent panel, made up of local artists and arts professionals, carefully selected 150 pieces to be displayed at the gallery. The exhibition includes a wide variety of styles, offering something for every art lover.

Art Prizes and People’s Choice Award

During the preview, three prizes were awarded, including the prestigious Judge’s Prize. The People’s Choice Award remains up for grabs, with visitors able to cast their votes until the exhibition closes on 18 January 2025.

All prizes for this year’s exhibition have been generously sponsored by local businesses, including The Greenbank Hotel, The Falmouth Hotel, and Hine Downing Solicitors.

Talented Artists on Display

Among the artists whose work is being featured are:

Darcy with Under the Sea (493)

Arthur with Summer Leaves (538)

Kerenza Townsend with Golden Rays of Dawn (443)

Sophia with her exhibit Save The Turtles (657)

The exhibition is free to visit and open to the public at Falmouth Art Gallery. Many of the artworks are also available for purchase, offering visitors a chance to take home a piece of Cornwall’s creative spirit.
