A special exhibition will open in Kirkcudbright this week to mark a gallery’s 20th anniversary.
A preview showing of Twenty Years will be held at The Whitehouse Gallery on Saturday, with the exhibition then running until the end of August.
The Whitehouse originally opened in 2004 as a small, independent art gallery and has grown into one of the country’s most exciting contemporary galleries.
The new exhibition will feature works from 20 fine artists who have helped shape the gallery into what it is today, ranging from long-standing exhibitors to more recent additions to the roster.
There will also be brand new collections of sculpture and applied craft.
Twenty Years will illustrate the gallery team’s love of merging different styles and mediums, with a mix of land and seascapes, still life and figurative works.
Artists will include Andy Cross, Corine Ko, Erraid Gaskell, Ewan McClure, Fee Dickson Reid, Garry Harper, Gordon Wilson, Heather Davies RSW, Helen Tabor, Ian McWhinnie, Jackie Henderson, Jenny Matthews RSW, Joyce Gunn Cairns MBE, Kate Bentley RI SWA, Margaret Evans, Marion Drummond PAI, Morag Muir RSW PAI, Nicola Wakeling, Rosanne Barr and Tricia Barna.
There will also be a new collections of glass from Amanda Simmons; mosaics from Amanda Anderson; ceramics by Chris Taylor, Elaine Brett, Helen Harrison, Michelle Lowe, Natalie Bell, Pauline Montgomery and Sandie Cosens; stone sculpture by Rowena Beaty; upcycled sculpture by Vicky Swift; jewellery and glass by Katy Quinn and textiles by Jo Gallant.
Everyone is welcome to attend the preview of Twenty Years at The Whitehouse Gallery between 11am and 5pm on Saturday.
After that, the exhibition will be open 10am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday until August 31.
