Since opening its doors two years ago, Willoughby Workspaces at The Charlton Abbott has become a location for more than just work.

Located at 37903 Euclid Ave., The Charlton Abbott will be hosting its second Festival of Summer Art Night Event on June 20 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Victorian home’s offices will be converted into art galleries for the 12 artists slated to be featured during the event.

Tickets are $10 and are available for purchase online. Attendees will be able to enjoy light appetizers, wine and refreshments, as well as a guitarist on the patio as part of the event.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the Willoughby Fine Arts’ children therapy program.

General Manager Christine Tekavec said the event is being hosted to celebrate the summer solstice.

After the house opened in 2022, the first event that was hosted was a spring pop up market, which featured local vendors selling merchandise.

Coming off of that event was the artist night event in which The Charlton Abbott hosted artists from Stella’s Art Gallery. This year, four artists from Stella’s are coming back in addition to Cleveland artists.

Additionally, among the events hosted at The Charlton Abbott include baby showers, wedding rehearsal dinners, celebration of life events and weddings.

Tekavec predicts a nice turnout for the summer which will utilize not only the house but also its porch and its patio.

The following artists will be featured at the event: Alex Cohen, Dwight Boyer and Denise Grant, color photographers, and Joseph John, a black and white photographer; Allison Liffman and Gina Toigo, painters; Tara Seibel, painter and jewelry maker; and Melissa Michaels, jewelry maker.

Rick Wovrosh will feature drawings in both color and black and white. Colleen Hartegan will feature a glass collection and Jason Antol will feature welding art.

Kathy Perdue will have non-alcoholic drinks.
