Company grabs 10 domains after owner told it to “grab it or get lost”.
IBM has won a cybersquatting complaint it filed against ten domain names that included its brand and cryptocurrency terms. Most of the domains follow the format ethereum-ibm.tld.
The domains are: cryptocurrencyibm. xyz, ethereum-ibm. app, ethereum-ibm. com, ethereumibm. com, ethereum-ibm. info, ethereum-ibm. net, ethereum-ibm. org, ethereum-ibm. vip, ethereum-ibm. xyz, and ibmethereum. com.
While the domains are nominally registered to people with six different names, IBM argued they are all under common control.
Nine of the domains forward to a wallet page on Coinbase’s website.
IBM sent cease & desist emails to each registrant before filing the cybersquatting complaint. It received one response that stated “The domain is up for grabs…grab it or get lost.”
Well, IBM decided to grab it.
