David Lucas leads Irish corporate finance team of Azets

August 9, 20242 Mins Read

Azets Ireland has appointed David Lucas as its new head of corporate finance. He has been a partner with the firm for the last four years.

Commenting on the appointment, Neil Hughes, CEO of Azets Ireland said, “We are delighted to announce the appointment of David to his new role of head of corporate finance. As Azets continues its growth journey both in Ireland and internationally, we see this role as critical in leading the delivery of the specialist corporate finance services that our entrepreneurial client base needs.”

Azets is a business advisory and accounting firm headquartered in London. The company has since grown to more than 165 offices globally, with some 7,000 staff working with 120,000 clients. Only established in 2016, the company’s rapid growth in its first eight years has been backed by UK private equity investor Hg – a specialist investor in European and transatlantic software and services businesses.

In his new role with the professional services firm, Lucas will focus on driving the continued expansion of the corporate finance department, adapting to the momentum of change in the corporate finance world and the continuous challenges and opportunities this presents.

Donal O’Leary, chair of Azets Ireland added, “We are delighted to announce David Lucas as our head of corporate finance. David will continue to build on recent growth and success and lead the wider corporate finance group across multiple service lines.”

Lucas brings over 20 years of experience in the finance sector to the role, working both in banks. He has also accrued significant experience in leading professional services firms, and with over 12 years in corporate finance, he has a wealth of deal knowhow. This included 2 years as a senior manager with Deloitte, and three years as a director at Mazars before joining Azets in Dublin.

Speaking on the news himself, Lucas added, “I am excited to take on this role as head of corporate finance in the early stages of Azets in Ireland. The Azets group has significant growth plans and I look forward to leading the full-service corporate finance team in growing our business and continuing to provide excellent service and outcomes for our clients. We are focused on the indigenous Irish mid-market sector, and we have developed a strong reputation for guiding entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses through periods of significant growth.”
