Councillor Mike Cox, Cabinet Member for Finance, said “Adam Richens is stepping down after an extraordinary 40 years of dedicated service to BCP Council and it’s predecessor authorities. Adam has dedicated his entire professional life to public service.
“His counsel to me personally has been invaluable in shaping our balanced budget since 2023 and supporting the organisation through pivotal moments of uncertainty across countless meetings, reports and financial strategies. Adam has offered clarity, wisdom and steadfast leadership, his work has had a lasting impact.
“His legacy will continue to shape the council long after his departure and his dedication to public finance stands as an example to all who follow. On behalf of colleagues, councillors and the communities he has served so diligently, thank you Adam.”
The Council gave consensus to appoint Matthew Filmer to the role of interim Director of Finance and section 151 officer.
