All On, a Shell-funded impact investment company, has called on the Nigerian government and private sector players to embrace bold and sustained investments in renewable energy as a pathway to bridging the country’s persistent energy deficit.
The Chairman of All On and Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo), Ronald Adams, made the appeal during his keynote address at the 2025 Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) International Business Conference & Expo in Lagos.
Speaking on the theme: ‘Investment Opportunities in Nigeria: A Renewable Energy Perspective,’ Adams underscored the urgency of accelerating energy access through cleaner, more sustainable alternatives that can stimulate long-term development.
According to him, Nigeria stands at a critical juncture where the opportunities in renewable energy are both immense and urgent. “The opportunity in Nigeria is real. The needs are urgent. And the ecosystem is vibrant. Now is the time to invest, not just in businesses, but in Nigeria’s future, a future that is inclusive, sustainable, and resilient,” he said.
Highlighting All On’s interventions since its establishment in 2016, he noted that the company has already committed more than $40 million to over 50 direct investments, bringing clean energy access to more than 1.2 million Nigerians across 190 underserved communities.
He further pointed to flagship initiatives such as the Demand Aggregation for Renewable Technology (DART) and the Distributed Access to Renewable Energy Scale-up (DARES) programmes, describing them as game changers in the country’s evolving energy landscape.
Adams reaffirmed All On’s commitment to advancing energy inclusion by supporting entrepreneurs, catalysing private capital, and building partnerships that accelerate the growth of the clean energy ecosystem.
He stressed that bold investment decisions taken today would not only address Nigeria’s immediate power challenges but also lay the foundation for an economy that thrives on sustainability, innovation, and resilience.
The conference featured a robust lineup of speakers and dignitaries, including Dr. Olufemi Ogunyemi, MD, Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority, Mr. Christian Mulamula, Principal Country Officer, IFC Nigeria, Dr. Christian Ebeke, IMF Resident Representative
