Baroda BNP Paribas Mutual Fund’s liquid scheme has marked a major milestone, completing 23 years with a steady track record of performance and nearly tripling investor wealth since inception. The fund’s average assets under management (AUM) have crossed Rs 10,500 crore, according to a statement by the fund house.
The Baroda BNP Paribas Liquid Fund, managed by Vikram Pamnani and Gurvinder Singh Wasan, focuses on short-term debt instruments with low credit and price risk. Since launch, a 1 lakh investment in the scheme would now be valued at approximately Rs 2.99 lakh, reflecting its long-term compounding benefits.
The scheme has also delivered an annualised return of 7.09 per cent over the past month, supported by a conservative portfolio and a modified duration of 55 days. The strategy is aimed at maintaining liquidity and minimising interest rate risk—key attributes that have drawn investors amid ongoing global uncertainty and policy shifts.
Investor Preference Shifts Toward Liquid Funds
As market volatility persists globally, investors are increasingly turning to liquid funds over traditional savings accounts. Experts say such schemes offer better risk-adjusted returns for surplus capital, while maintaining easy access to funds.
According to industry experts, liquid funds like Baroda BNP Paribas’ have become an attractive option for conservative investors looking for safety, liquidity, and stable returns.
Surge in Mutual Fund Industry AUM
The fund’s milestone comes at a time when the Indian mutual fund industry is witnessing significant expansion. According to AMFI data for June 2025, total industry AUM rose to Rs 74.41 lakh crore, a 13.2 per cent quarterly increase and 3.1 per cent rise over the previous month. Net inflows in June stood at Rs 49,095 crore, with nearly 95 per cent of those flows directed toward equity and hybrid schemes.
