Join Young Professionals of the Americas for an engaging and insightful conversation on the future of social impact investing in Latin America, featuring two dynamic young female professionals who are leading the way in this field: Lucía Montalvo of Salkantay Ventures and Gabriela Carrasco of Reciprocal.

The speakers will explore how impact-driven investments are reshaping communities and creating opportunities across the region. Both Montalvo and Carrasco will share their perspectives on innovative financing models, the challenges and opportunities of investing in Latin America, and the critical role that women play in fostering sustainable development. 

Through their personal stories and professional experiences, the conversation will highlight the power of purposeful capital in addressing pressing social and environmental issues while driving meaningful economic growth. Speakers

Lucía Montalvo is a partner at Salkantay Ventures, a venture capital fund focused on investing in early-stage companies across Spanish-speaking Latin America. She brings 12 years of experience in the financial sector, in venture capital, impact investing, and investment banking, with a career that includes roles at Salkantay, BBVA, Bancolombia and Bamboo Capital Partners. Lucia holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universidad de los Andes and an MBA from NYU Stern School of Business. 

 

Gabriela Carrasco has over 12 years of experience in the Latin American social innovation ecosystem. She co-founded 2811, a certified B Corp focused on building capacity for regeneration across Latin America, with offices in Chile, Colombia, Germany, and the United States. She later co-founded Reciprocal Studio to bridge the gap between the environmental crisis and the availability of solutions in the region. Gabriela holds an MPA in Social Innovation and Impact Investing from NYU, along with dual degrees in Business Administration and Political Science from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
