The Stock Exchange of Thailand Chairman Pichai Chunhavajira has resigned in a move seen foreshadowing his possible designation as the country’s finance minister.
Pichai also quit as chairman of petroleum company Bangchak Corp. and renewable power-producer BCPG Pcl. effective April 25, according to separate exchange filings. He gave up his post as bourse chairman on Wednesday and is set to replace Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin as finance chief, Thai-language newspaper Thansettakij reported.
