Around 1:40 p.m. on June 13, a driver collided head-on into the art gallery of the Grand Bohemian Hotel.
The wreck into the gallery was a result of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Meeting and Wentworth streets, said Sgt. Chris Stinson of the Charleston Police Department. No one in either vehicle nor anyone inside of the hotel were injured.

A light gray Subaru Forester lodged into a side window of the art gallery. The window, broken in a spiderweb pattern, sustained the majority of visible building damage. The front hood of the vehicle was crushed like a soda can, the front bumper hanging but still attached.
The vehicle was still operable. To remove the car from the front window, a tow truck driver maneuvered it in reverse out onto the street.

Construction on the Grand Bohemian Hotel was completed in August 2015, according to mashburnconstruction.com. The 1,100-square-foot art gallery contains pieces from artists all over the world as well as a few from local South Carolina painters. Greenville artists, including Kym Day, Gretta McCall and Jenan McClain, have artworks on sale.
Hotel management declined initial requests for statements, including if there was any damage sustained to artwork inside the gallery.
