‘Eye for Art’ being held at the Thames Art Gallery Nov. 1 to Jan. 12 | Wallaceburg News

October 26, 20242 Mins Read

Eye for Art, a celebration of creativity, fun and fund-raising kicks off on Friday, November 1, at 7 p.m. at the Thames Art Gallery in Chatham.

“Everyone is welcome to come and join the event to view the incredible works of art on display,” organizers say.

“Guest juror Troy Brooks, a globally recognized modern pop surrealist artist selected 88 artworks from the 152 submissions received by the Thames Art Gallery for its biannual Eye 4 Art event. After much deliberation, three works have been honoured by Brooks with the Juror’s Awards of Excellence: Tracy Bultje, Mike Thain and Meghan Peeters. The People’s Choice Award is yet to be determined as the public will vote for their favourites at the gathering.”

The event also includes gourmet fall flavoured appetizers, live acoustic entertainment with local musician “BREN”, and a cash bar with a specialty autumn cocktail as part of an entertaining and festive evening.

Eye 4 Art is a free event, but donations are encouraged.

All proceeds will go to ARTspace, a not-for-profit gallery dedicated to the promotion and development of Chatham-Kent artists.

Eye 4 Art is on display from November 1, 2024 to January 12, 2025.

Thames Art Gallery is located at the Chatham Cultural Centre, 75 William Street North in downtown Chatham.

Open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday with extended hours on Thursdays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
