It has been proposed to turn the ground floor of an office building into an art gallery and associated tea room.
An application for Chequer House at 12 King Street in Lynn, which is at the moment is mostly a modern office building, was sent in May.
If permission is granted, the premises ground floor will be turned into an art gallery with one association as the only exhibitor.
It is hoped this will rise to three exhibiting associations in the future with hopes for 15,000 visitors per annum, giving rise to around 500 art pieces being sold per annum.
In the Design, Access, Heritage Statement it notes that the proposal does not change the rooms forming part of the listed structure.

It says: “The ground floor office will remain as such, utilised by the building owner for administration and facilities management.
“The plant rooms will remain unaltered. The first floor rooms do not form part of the application area.”
It also states that there will be minor alterations made to the modern office areas with the demolition and addition of modern stud work.
This area will also see alterations to fixtures and finishes that will have neither a physical nor visual impact on the listed building.
The tea room is provided in support of the principal art gallery use which will sell hot and cold beverages, and cold snacks, sandwiches, and cakes only.
There is not intended to be any cooking or meaningful food preparation on site, with food prepared off-site by third parties and delivered to the tea room.
It is hoped that with additional outside custom, the tea room may see around 18,000 users per annum.
