WARSAW — For those looking to discover art events and connect with other artists and art enthusiasts, look no further. The following events and galleries are the places to go:
The Lakeland Art Gallery is currently exhibiting the ceramics and fabric art of Elizabeth Wamsley, Jenna Oke, Matt Mabis, and Madelene Bussart. There is also a member’s gallery where Lakeland’s artist members are allowed to sell their work. These exhibits can be visited at the Lakeland Art Gallery, 119 S Buffalo St, Warsaw. The hours are 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Friday hours are 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Entry into the gallery costs nothing.
For art classes or an evening of figure study drawing, the Lakeland Art Gallery is the place to go. Visit their website at lakelandartgallery.com to see all that is available.
The Atelier is exhibiting the works of Cuban surrealist painter Reynier Garcia and local sculptor Adam Boyle until Friday, July 25. The hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 8 pm. Friday and Saturday. The Atelier is located at 104 E. Center St, Warsaw, IN and there is no cost to enter the gallery.
City Hall Gallery is exhibiting the art donated to the Water Shed Foundation’s Art Auction. The address is 102 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw. The hours are the same as the hours of City Hall. Entry into the gallery costs nothing.
At 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 25 the Warsaw Main Street and the Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with some of the downtown merchants will host “Sip N Shop”. Attendees can visit downtown to stroll through tables of art, sip wine, and eat light refreshments. There will also be an opportunity to win a $50 shopping certificate. Artists looking for booth space to sell your art during this event can contact (574) 457-6085.
Pierceton is once again hosting the Heirloom Tomato Festival 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. August 23 in Brower Park, 105 E. Market Street, Pierceton. This is a day of food, crafts, and art. The art theme is all things agriculture. There is no cost to attend this festival.
Market on Teeple’s Pond is a two-day show held 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, September 12 and Saturday September 13. This is the fifth annual show and is being held at 8995 N. County Rd. 250 W, Milford. This show will have 30-40 vendors of fine arts, vintage and antiques, high end crafts, plants, artisan goods such as baked goods, herbs, teas etc. There will be two food trucks for customers to purchase food.
So much opportunity and so much art to feed one’s creative spirit.
