Last chance to see exhibition celebrating history of graffiti and street art

May 16, 20241 Min Read

AS Leicester prepares to host artists from all over the world for its third Bring the Paint street art festival, people are being reminded to take up their last chance to see a striking exhibition that celebrates the history of graffiti and street art, at Leicester Museum & Art Gallery.

Award winning Leicester-based arts organisation MBD and aerosol arts project team Graffwerk are behind the immersive exhibition – Paint to Pixel x Repainting Subway Art.

Around 42,000 visitors have already made their way to the museum on New Walk to see the combination of original artworks, archive material and first-hand narratives in an exhibition which provides a platform for often-overlooked artists to share their stories with new audiences.

Anyone who hasn’t visited has until Monday 27 May, when the exhibition will end. More information on opening times is available on the Leicester Museums’ website

Bring the Paint international street art festival runs from 20-26 May, and will feature large-scale murals, exhibitions, and workshops across the city. Find out more from the Bring the Paint website.
