David died after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease in September 2016. His family established Stanage Press Ltd to publish his novels in his name.

Another launch event for the novel took place on May 4 at Bamford Village Institute, with award-winning author Berlie Doherty attending as the guest of honour.

The two events raised £387 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Andrew Greaves, David’s father, said: “The stamina and strength of character demonstrated by David’s achievements as an ultra-marathon runner and Iron Man triathlete were also shown by his determination to complete a series of whimsical children’s stories in verse, while living with the cruel limitations imposed by Motor Neurone Disease (ALS), diagnosed shortly after David’s thirtieth birthday in June 2015.”

Books published by Stanage Press Ltd are not being sold in connection with the MND Association.
