More than 50 West Michigan artists gather for pop-up charity gallery

October 30, 20242 Mins Read

GRAND HAVEN, MI — For one night only, an art pop-up will gather more than 50 West Michigan artists displaying works of a wide range of mediums.

The gallery will benefit Grand Haven’s community, nonprofit radio station, 103.5 WAWL.

The event will be be held 5-8 p.m. Saturday, November 2 at the Tri-Cities Historical Museum, hosted by Lakeshore Visual Arts Collective’s (LVAC).

The second-story of the historical museum will be transformed into an art gallery packed with jewelers, potters, painters, photographers, fiber artists, multimedia artists, glass artists, and more.

“We’re excited about hosting our first-ever pop-up at the historical museum. It’s a really cool venue, a historical anchor for the city, and a unique space to showcase the work of regional artists,” said Maggie Bandstra, LVAC founder and chair. “Like all our pop-up shows, Art at the Museum is a great example of how LVAC brings people together to foster good in the area, build a sustainable artist community, and grow opportunities for art collectors here on the lakeshore.”

The charity event will also feature live music by local guitarist MacKael LaMore, food by Righteous Cuisine and a cash bar.

A suggested $10 donation at the door and 10% of art sales directly benefit the work of the Tri-Cities Broadcasting Foundation, which operates WAWL radio.

The foundation provides a platform for local musicians, offers internship opportunities for college students studying the broadcast arts, and provides a source for local news, sports, and weather.
