NADA New York Celebrates 10 Years With Dynamic Programming

April 26, 20243 Mins Read

Taking place May 2–5, 2024, this year’s edition of NADA New York marks the fairs tenth anniversary, which will see 92 galleries, art spaces, and non-profit organizations convene at the fair’s location at 548 West in the heart of Chelsea’s gallery district. The participants of the fair are comprised of 59 New Art Dealers Alliance (NADA) members, with 34 being first-time exhibitors, reflecting 15 countries and 31 cities.

Returning exhibitor highlights include London’s Et al. presenting work by Will Yackulic, and artist Hidetaka Suzuki being shown by Chicago-based Ackerman Clarke. First-time exhibitor Foundry Seoul will showcase work by Jang Jongwan, and KDR, Miami, will feature a dynamic group presentation comprised of Sergio Suarez, Samuel Stewart, and Ana Won.

The forthcoming edition will also see the return of TD Bank Curated Spotlight—the fifth iteration of the program—a dedicated section of the fair helmed by curator and writer Simon Wu. Here, visitors can explore five bespoke solo presentations by exhibiting galleries.

Of the exhibitions Simon Wu said, “For NADA New York, I wanted to highlight a few spaces that are not only showing underrepresented artists but are also striving to create sustainable communities and healthy futures for them. These galleries—from New York to Seoul to Melbourne—are trying to rethink what a gallery should be today, and they imbue this care into how they approach commerce, visibility, and community. I am grateful for NADA and TD Bank for the chance to support them.”

NADA Projects, the fair’s signature programming initiative, will also return in force with a full roster of small-scale presentations and curatorial projects, including from participants Marta, Los Angeles, and Essex Flowers, New York.

The 10th anniversary edition of NADA New York also comes on the heels of two exciting new NADA initiatives recently announced. Between May 15–19, NADA Villa Warsaw 2024 will make its debut. Described as a member-driven, collaborative exhibition, 44 galleries from 25 international cities will come together to present a exhibition within the context of the neo-baroque Villa Gawrońskich.

And taking place later this year, October 17–20, the inaugural edition of the Salon by NADA and The Community will alight in the 10th arrondissement of Paris. Illustrating the organization’s collaboration with The Community, a multidisciplinary art institution based in Paris, the event offers a new experiential facet to Paris Art Week. With contemporary art from both NADA’s gallery network and The Community’s network of arts organizations, the occasion will feature everything from art and music to fashion and publishing.

Taken together, the 2024 edition of NADA New York marks a momentous milestone for the fair, as well as the kickoff event for a multifaceted and eventful year of events for NADA.

NADA New York will be held May 2–5, 2024, at 548 West.
