Notes: Local art gallery offering viewing for new art from Cuba

NCO Creative, an art consulting firm that opened in February, is offering an “exclusive viewing of new artwork obtained during [a] recent excursion to Cuba.”

The viewing is scheduled for Friday, May 10, from 7-9:30 p.m. at 119 South Fairfax Street. Tickets are $35.

According to a release:

This event offers the opportunity to be immersed in the vibrant culture of Cuban artists, while providing a well-deserved platform for the artists on the island.

The pieces on display, are a variety of mediums created by a range of artists from the winner of the country’s prestigious National Visual Arts Award, to some of the younger contemporary artists, exploring bold and inventive artistic directions.

The viewing will also feature Havana-inspired craft cocktails, charcuterie and chocolate treats.
