Lillie Art Gallery, Station Road, Milngavie G62 8BZ, 0141956 5536. Opening Times Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 1pm and 2-5pm. Closed Sunday and Monday. 24th August – 26th September 2024.On Saturday 24 August a free photography exhibition will be unveiled at the Lillie Art Gallery in Milngavie. The exhibition is being provided by Street Level Photoworks and is entitled, ‘Disparate Individuals: Common Cause’.

Running until 26 September, the exhibition brings together work by a range of photographers who were active members of the Glasgow Photography Group (GPG) from 1987 to 1989. GPG was the association of photography enthusiasts who went on to establish a photography centre in Glasgow, which became Street Level Photoworks, established in 1989.

Chair of the East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust, Councillor Jim Gibbons, said, “I am very much looking forward to seeing this exciting exhibition which includes works by some well-known names in Scottish Photography: names like Robert Burns, Alan Dimick, Roger Farnham, Sarah Mackay, Kay Ritchie, Stewart Shaw and Sandy Sharp.

“Running from Saturday 24 August until Thursday 26 September, ‘Disparate Individuals: Common Cause’ is a fantastic opportunity to engage with photography in our community. I would urge everyone to make a point of visiting the Lillie Art Gallery over the coming weeks, so as not to miss this exhibition which features the works of so many of Scotland’s talented photographers.”

The ‘Disparate Individuals: Common Cause’ exhibition will launch at the Lillie Art Gallery at 2pm on Saturday 24 August.
