Shrewsbury Art Trail: Entries welcomed to be part of giant community created art trail

February 12, 20252 Mins Read

Founder of the non-profit organisation, Jessica Richards is calling on artists from Shropshire to submit their entries to feature in this year’s art trail in the county town.

The event has grown in popularity and previously featured works from well-known and prestigious artists.

Projects are showcased at the Community Gallery at Shrewsbury Museum and at the Art Gallery (SM&AG) during the trail in July and August.

The project aims to involve people – young and old – from across the region, from seasoned artists to budding enthusiasts.

Artists are being given the ‘freedom to express their creativity’ this year with the art trail having no set theme.

Founder, Jessica is encouraging people to unleash their inner creative and contribute to the huge art installation.

She said: “I can’t wait to see the entries this year. Year on year the quality has been getting better.

“Last year there were entries that came through where I was thinking ‘you shouldn’t be coming to me, I should be requesting from you’.

“Each year it has got better on what has come through so I hope this year will follow suite and I am excited.

“Each year we have bringing high-quality art to Shrewsbury that people can see for free in the museum and art gallery, and we look forward to doing that again.”

Artists and art lovers can earn prizes for featuring in the art trail.

The winner of the ‘judges’ prize’ will win a £150 Callaghan Framing voucher while the winner of the ‘people’s choice award’ will win £100 worth of art supplies from Paperwrite.

To submit one entry for the art trail costs £9, to submit two entries costs £13, and to submit three entries costs £16. Additional entries cost £6 each.

The deadline for entries is May 17.
