The National Gallery: Art On Your Doorstep will feature life-size reproductions of paintings from its collection, displayed throughout the Oakwell estate.
Each artwork will be accompanied by text developed collaboratively by the National Gallery, Kirklees Museums & Galleries, and community groups.
Councillor Carole Pattison, leader of Kirklees Council, said: “We are thrilled that the prestigious National Gallery has chosen Kirklees as a host for this exhibition.
“Kirklees is rich in cultural heritage, and our historic Oakwell Hall couldn’t be a more appropriate setting for displaying these beautiful works of art.
“The community collaboration which has gone into this project perfectly illustrates our ethos that art is for everyone to enjoy.
“I urge everyone to visit, learn about and enjoy these magnificent paintings.”
The exhibition will run from April 4 to September 30 and will include 14 paintings.
Featured works include Van Gogh’s Sunflowers and Monet’s The Water-lily Pond.
Participating in the project were Batley High School for Girls, Ravenshall School, and Dewsbury’s Friday Wanderers walking group, who helped shape the commentary for the exhibition.
