This Tribeca Pop-Up Exhibition Wants to Help You Find Inner Peace

June 3, 20242 Mins Read

Online art space Selfless Art Gallery is presenting an IRL pop-up exhibition this month in New York’s art-packed Tribeca neighborhood. On view June 5–9, 2024, at 72 Warren Street, the exhibition is entitled “The Multifaceted Journey Towards Inner Balance and Peace” and features the work of four dynamic artists: Sunday Olaniyi, Hector Maldonado, and Eli Portman, and Pierre Salvan.

The show is in keeping with the ethos of Selfless Art Gallery—which was established in New York in 2022—of fostering and promoting reflection and personal, psychological exploration. Founder Maxine Henry described, “Selfless Art Gallery offers more than just an exhibition space for art—it serves as a platform for deep introspection and self-discovery. It is a place where visitors can embark on a journey of self-realization and personal growth.”

In Nigerian born, U.S.-based Olaniyi’s work, the artist taps the narrative possibilities of glass beads and African culture to capture portraiture with abstracted storylines. For Boston-based muralist Portman, watercolors are a means of transporting viewers to otherworldly landscapes, providing a contemplative, visual reprieve from everyday life. And in Pierre Salvan’s work, the artist’s meditative line work and sparing color reflect considerations of inner peace.

Hector Malonado, who hails from Mexico and is in addition to being an artist a philanthropist, half of the proceeds from his colorful, imaginative compositions will go to support the Royal Holiday Foundation, further emphasizing the theme of positive change within the exhibition.

Against the backdrop of one of New York’s busiest and most iconic neighborhoods, Selfless Fine Art’s “The Multifaceted Journey Towards Inner Balance and Peace” offers a moment of respite, and the chance to come away with a new perspective on self-acceptance.

“The Multifaceted Journey Towards Inner Balance and Peace” will be on view June 5–9, 2024, with Selfless Art Gallery at 72 Warren Street, New York.
