Varanasi: As part of its efforts to boost religious tourism, the state govt will build an art gallery in Mirzapur to showcase stories related to Maa Vindhyavasini and the pilgrimage site. This gallery will offer tourists a unique blend of faith, art, and culture. Vindhyavasini is Aadya Mahashakti, and Vindhyachal is believed to be her sacred abode.Under the Vindhya Corridor Scheme, various construction and development projects, including the Parikrama Path around Maa Vindhyavasini Mata Mandir, are being expedited. The art gallery is expected to boost tourism in the Vindhya region further. The govt has begun implementing the blueprint for the integrated development of Mirzapur and the Vindhya region.The pace of construction for the art gallery has been accelerated. The UP Projects Corporation Limited (UPPCL) has been assigned the responsibility for constructing the art gallery. The UPPCL has initiated the process of appointing specialized agencies to complete the project through an e-tendering process.The total cost for the art gallery construction is estimated to be around Rs 4 crore. The project manager of the Mirzapur unit of UPPCL Hari Shankar Gupta told TOI that the efforts are on to rope in the art experts from the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda for the project.Once the contracts are awarded, the appointed agencies are expected to complete all construction work within six months, excluding the rainy season. Under the Vindhya Corridor Scheme, the Parikrama Path Parkota, extending from A Block to H Block, is being constructed around the temple. This structure features eight central points on the rampart roofs between A Block and H Block, with stone temple-like domes being crafted at 16 locations. These domes will house idols of gods and goddesses, showcasing the grandeur and divinity of the Maa Vindhyavasini Temple.
