Wolverhampton Art Gallery set for special one-night takeover by city homeless charity

September 24, 20252 Mins Read

The Good Shepherd will takeover Wolverhampton Art Gallery on Friday as part of the gallery’s series of ‘Friday Lates’.

On the last Friday of the month, Wolverhampton Art Gallery opens its doors after hours to welcome themed nights and for September’s takeover, Good Shepherd will exhibit between 6pm and 9pm.

The ‘Friday Late’ will celebrate Recovery Month, premiering a short film capturing the magic of the Recovery Walk and Recovery Village which took place on September 13 in Wolverhampton, thanks to funding from Arts Council England.

Visitors can also expect hands on family friendly workshops from African drumming to wildflower clay bomb making, live music, DJ’s and a lot more.

Kate Penman, project lead at Good Shepherd, said: “We are celebrating Recovery and the undeniable role that the arts play in these journeys.

“After the success of the national Recovery Walk and Recovery Village earlier this month, we hope you can all celebrate with us on Friday.”

Dinosaur Kilby, creative producer at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, said: “It’s fantastic to celebrate the great work that the Good Shepherd do in the community and the Friday Lates are an opportunity for people to get involved in culture in Wolverhampton.”

The event is free and open to all and tickets can be booked online.
