Chandigarh: A man allegedly fled with Rs 8 lakh on the pretext of providing United States Dollar Tether (USDT) for starting cryptocurrency trading work. He is accused of trying to run over the complainant’s brother with his vehicle while escaping. Although there was no loss of life, the complainant was cheated of Rs 8 lakh. Sandeep, the complainant, is a resident of Nayagaon. Sandeep said around 9.30pm on Nov 18, he reached Sector 40 with his brother, Moksh Kumar Maurya. Sandeep wanted to start cryptocurrency trading work. For this, he needed USDT. So he brought Rs 8 lakh along with him. The accused, Prince, was to provide the USDT.
