I’m thrilled to share two newsroom updates.
Kaja Whitehouse is stepping into a new role as senior editor of our legal affairs team, effective immediately. In this role, Kaja will steer our coverage of major courtroom showdowns and high-stakes litigation across our core focus areas of business, technology, and innovation.
Kaja has been a driving force on Business Insider’s finance team since joining the newsroom in 2021. She recently led coverage on topics ranging from the Park Avenue office tower shooting to Wall Street’s crackdown on private equity’s early recruiting push.
Kaja’s move to the legal beat is a homecoming of sorts: She previously covered Manhattan courts for the New York Post.
Her team includes Natalie Musumeci, Laura Italiano, and Jacob Shamsian.
And now to the finance team. I’m also excited to share that Michelle Abrego is taking the helm as Business Insider’s senior finance editor.
Michelle will lead our coverage of Wall Street’s biggest banks, hedge funds, private equity firms, and asset managers. The team focuses on the people powering the industry: what it’s like to work in finance, how to break into the field, and how the business is being reshaped by AI.
Michelle has long been the engine behind our Rising Stars of Wall Street franchise, spotlighting the next generation of investors, traders, and dealmakers who are shaping the future of finance.
Bradley Saacks, Reed Alexander, Alex Nicoll, Dan Geiger, and Alex Morrell will now report to Michelle.
