Art Gallery & Studio by Aga Kubish opening in Weston

March 23, 20242 Mins Read

The Art Gallery & Studio by Aga Kubish, opening April 20th, will be Weston-super-Mare’s first self-funded, professional fine art gallery.

“We’re excited to announce the opening of Weston’s first professional fine art gallery,” said award winning, internationally renowned artists Aga Kubish and Marta Hutt.

Aga and Marta continue: “After successfully organizing several art events at the Tropicana and Weston Museum, and exhibiting in major cities across the UK, we’re thrilled to open our independent gallery to the public.

“A professional fine art gallery with a studio is something Weston has been lacking, and we’re looking forward to hosting exhibitions, workshops, and providing a space accessible to artists and art enthusiasts.”

The brainchild of Aga Kubish with support of Marta Hutt, the new gallery is set to be a dynamic hub for fine art enthusiasts, showcasing both local talent and internationally renowned artists.

They say: “As professional artists, we think that it is crucial for galleries to expose people to contemporary art.

“We believe it’s important to run our own gallery while supporting other artists, helping them expand their body of work and improve their skills, whilst delivering high-quality art experiences accessible to everyone.

“Our gallery is in the Weston Heritage Zone, in the newly refurbished Magdala buildings, and we can’t wait to showcase the work of the artists we have onboard!”

Located at 4 Walliscote Road in a newly restored building, The Art Gallery & Studio by Aga Kubish will be a professionally run, accessible art gallery housing a rich program of exhibitions, workshops and events.

Aga is a multiple award-winning artist printmaker and Associate Member of The Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers, who specialises in botanical linocut print.

Meanwhile, Marta is a published and internationally renowned painter and creative director known for her vibrant fine art with attitude.

Both artists have been working together since meeting several years ago at an Art Event project in the Tropicana which Marta was organising, their shared passion for the arts ignited a collaborative spark that would ultimately lead to the establishment of this venture.

The grand opening of The Art Gallery & Studio by Aga Kubish will be at 6pm, Saturday April 20th; the artists encourage anyone to come along and celebrate with them.
