Each year group was given a period of time and asked to get creative, with the help of our specialist art teacher.

Hornsey Church Tower was reflected in the exhibitionHornsey Church Tower was reflected in the exhibition (Image: St Mary’s CE Primary School) Artwork included a 3D recreation of Hornsey High Street (created by the Reception classes) to pop-art portraits of David Greig, a local historical philanthropist, and two giant wall hangings of Hornsey Church Tower.

As well as the artwork, a huge archive of St Mary’s from days gone by was on display and our visitors searched through for older siblings, parents and even grandparents.

A very moving piece of history.

The huge leather-bound Day Book was put on showThe huge leather-bound Day Book was put on show (Image: St Mary’s CE Primary School) We were delighted to have so many people come along from current pupils and parents to old friends of the school, former staff members and local councillors. Our MP, Catherine West, also joined us, and enjoyed the choir who entertained with songs from different decades in history.

It was a thoroughly special evening.
